Well Hello to all my followers... I landed in Ghana 2 weeks ago today. It's amazing how fast time goes. I have enjoyed it oh so very much. I will let the pictures do the talking, as they tell more than I can. I know it's a lot of pictures this time, but I got carried away once I started..
Leaving from Amsterdam airport
I am sure I have taken pics of this before, but these boys are the scrap metal collectors, and they take what they collect and trade it for money.
The "Hawkers" busy at work selling their goods. This becomes quite handy when you are stuck for hours in traffic, and need a snack and a drink. I am quite thankful for them :)
Auntie Teiko and I went to take her son Fifi's x-rays back to him after getting them reported. He had pneumonia for a while, but has since cleared up.
A day isn't complete without seeing someone somewhere playing a little 'football'
When it's too heavy to carry with your hands, it's usually okay to carry on your head :)
Philip and I went to Frankie's..the american food restaurant. It was delicious.
Chicken n chips, n bbq chicken pizza. Yumm!

My little friend Yvonne. She became very comfortable laying on my back :)
Yvonne and her little brother Situ. Little cuties. I get regular hugs from them when I see them every sunday at Gospel Meeting.
Leontine has spent the past little while in Ghana. We had a gathering to say goodbye to her, as she is headed back to her country, Benin. This is Leontine and I. (And Yvonne needed to be in as well hehe)
Out and about. Take note of the gutters, one never can be too careful to watch out for your every step.
Last Sunday was Union meeting, and so some came to meet with us from Tema. Uncle Sam (Philip's uncle) and Auntie Joanna and Prince (friends of the family). We were sitting around waiting on lunch.
Esther was very busy cooking up a storm in her beautiful apron ;)
Auntie Joanna and Auntie Teiko
My sis Ami and I ;)
Uncle Tetteh (Philip's Dad) fixing the fire to start frying the fish
We soon had to move all the cooking inside, as a sudden rain storm came upon us.... This is Uncle Sam taking cover from the rain that was blowing sideways.
We think it rains in Canada, you should see the rains here...nothing like the slamming down of the rain here
After the rains stopped, it was just drizzling, and so Uncle Tetteh decided he didn't want his head to get wet, so he created this beautiful head covering ;) :)
Auntie Teiko and one of her brothers Uncle Sam
Oh, do you know this guy?? :) This is Philip and I out and about. Seems we get lots of pictures in the taxi, because we forget all the other times.
Fifi is staying at a boarding school, so he only gets visitors on the first sunday of the month.. so, his mom and I went to visit him. It was also raining this day, so we had our visit in the dining hall.
This poor person had only the sidewalk to sleep on, and a plastic bag to cover him..
Philip and I had to go to the airport to get a ticket for Alan, and so I decided that I should get a picture beside the welcome sign there. Akwaaba means Welcome in the Twi language here.
Here he is in all his beauty ;) haha. I love the trees around the airport, makes a little tunnel of trees
On our way back, we saw this man walking his monkey....he later told us that it was for sale. You see all kinds of things here :)
Preps for convention here has officially begun in full force. They are in the process of adding another layer on top of the family house, so that it can be used for more sleeping. However, there's not many people that know how to do it, and it takes much time...no such thing as hiring a builder to do it because that also takes too much money.
So bit by bit a few have been doing the cement work to replace the asbestos roof with a concrete roof so the tent can be up and ready to use by convention.
Here we have chief Jamaica (left) who is a mason, and his side kick, and brother worker, Yves.
This is the foreman...Alan Cooke He is the building inspector, as well as the one who is giving all the instruction. He just came up to check on the job.
Here is one very full tro-tro. I would think it has been hired to go a long distance, hence all the baggage on top.
I went to the market with Auntie Betty (Philip's mom). Here we bough some corn, and took it to the mill to get ground more into flour.
Auntie Betty dealing with the lady to get some Magi, and some Oil.
The little cutie that was watching me carefully, being the only white person in the whole market. I asked if I could take her photo, and she wasn't so sure but said yes. Then I showed her and she had the biggest grin ever. So cute.
All the ladies selling their goods.
More of the market.
This is some of the food that we had the other night. Luckily for me, I had an upset stomach so I only ate bread. it was a good reason for me not to have to put the whole fish on my plate :)
I went to exchange some money yesterday, and this little cutie was in the FOREX office. She wouldn't even be 2 years old, but she was carrying her little baby the way her mom would still carry her.

We haven't been out to too many places yet, however we have plans to go a few more places. Then we'll have a few more pictures :)
I am definitely enjoying my time here. It seems more and more normal every time. Philip even asked me the other day, Leah, you're not taking many pictures, is it all normal to you now? Haha. I guess I am getting used to seeing the sights and don't take out my camera as often.
Miss you, but not too much yet ;) hehe. Look forward to some comments to know you're following. I'll try be a better blogger, and give more regular updates, then it wouldn't be such a chore for me to do 50 pictures at a time haha.
All for now, it's lunch time so better go.
Leah, the Ghanadian ;)
